British denim brand Pepe Jeans, which has been at the forefront of international denim-led fashion for the past 44 years, is considering retail expansion in India, reportedly informed Neha Shah, Head of Marketing for Pepe Jeans India.
The brand is planning to increase its store count in the country by opening 40 to 50 retail stores in the next two to three years in order to enhance its omni-channel presence.
The fashion retailer, which is increasing its focus on the Indian market, opened its 219th store in Hyderabad recently. It also roped in Bollywood actor Sidharth Malhotra as its first ever Indian brand ambassador to promote itself in the young Indian fashion market.
In addition to store expansion, the denim brand also launched an athleisure product category in India, recently.
Pepe Jeans is currently present in Tier II and III Indian cities in addition to major metro cities of the country. Its products are retailed through 234 EBOs, over 1350 MBOs and 503 LFS across India. Additionally, Pepe Jeans is also retailed through e-retailers such as Myntra, Amazon, Jabong, Ajio and Cilory.
The brand intends to reap the benefits of liberalised policies in India that permits foreign single-brand retailers to sell through their own stores as well as franchisee outlets.
A wide array of chic casual wear for men, women and kids are manufactured by Pepe Jeans. However, jeans offered in variety of fabrics, washes, fits and colours is main product of the company.
T-shirts, flat knits, sweaters, sweat shirts, jackets as well as woven merchandise are also part of product portfolio of the jeans brand.
