Nikita Mhaisalkar, a womenswear designer, has ventured into artificial intelligence for the first time with her latest ready-to-wear line, “Theodora.” The line, which combines AI exploration with Mahisalkar’s creative vision, is intended to expand the label’s potential.
“Theodora is our ultimate muse: the fierce and dynamic empress was indeed fashion’s very first influencer,” said Nikita Mhaisalkar about the collection’s inspiration in a press release. The season-fluid collection is inspired by the Byzantine era and mixes traditional Indian silhouettes with global shapes.
“Taking on AI to celebrate my vision for Theodora was an experience,” added Mhaisalkar. “The AI version of the collection gave me an impressive insight on how Theodora would shape up in terms of prints and embroidery. The AI vision of my work helped me think beyond the regular. It’s an unimaginative, unreal world and I had fun exploring it.”
The prints in the series are Byzantine mosaic patterns that AI has reinterpreted. Bodysuits, fitted suits, glistening bandeau tops, voluminous skirts, and maxi dresses in the resort style with embroidered accents are all part of the collection.
The label’s website states that Nikita Mhaisalkar founded her business in 2003 and that Nagpur is home to its main store. Theodora is now available for purchase on Nikita Mhaisalkar’s direct-to-consumer e-commerce site, which offers both domestic and worldwide shipping.
