Vice President and Secretary General Zhang Tao led a delegation from the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, a division of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), to meet with President Faruque Hassan of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) at the organization’s city headquarters.

Wu Zhizhen, Deputy Director, and Jiao Jiao, Assistant Director, from the CCPIT Sub-Council of Textile Industry, accompanied Zhang Tao. At the meeting at the BGMEA Complex was Liz Fashion’s managing director, Leo Zhuang.

The conversation concentrated on possible partnerships to promote Bangladesh’s garment sector internationally, with an emphasis on setting up foreign shows. They looked into highlighting Bangladesh’s advantages in the Ready-Made Garment (RMG) industry, especially with regard to producing elaborate and upscale fashion items.

The Sub-Council of Textile Industry and CCPIT’s role in promoting investments in Bangladesh’s non-cotton textile sector were additional topics of discussion.

Faruque Hassan gave an overview of the notable changes that have occurred in Bangladeshi garment factories, emphasising improvements in energy efficiency, environmental sustainability, modernisation, and safety regulations. In order to highlight the sector’s developing capabilities internationally, he highlighted Bangladesh’s distinction as the country with the greatest number of green garment manufacturers in the world and voiced excitement about possible cooperation between the BGMEA and the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, or CCPIT.
