In a major change in focus, the clean-cut Danish hipster brand Ganni has appointed Laura du Rusquec, a former executive at Balenciaga, as its new CEO.
“Laura’s extensive experience in EMEA and global markets with specialty in luxury equips her with unique insights and strategies, ideal for leading Ganni into its next phase of growth and brand innovation,” said Eduardo Velasco, Partner at L Catterton, the private equity stake that acquired control of Ganni in 2017.
According to a release from Ganni, Laura du Rusquec will bring to the company a wealth of experience in managing high-end fashion, having held prominent roles at luxury brands like Gucci and Balenciaga.
“I am thrilled to join Ganni at such a pivotal time and to continue building on the brand’s strong foundation. Ganni’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and their progressive approach to luxury is exactly what the future of fashion needs. I look forward to leading the talented team toward new heights and further global expansion,” said du Rusquec.
Andrea Baldo, the CEO of Ganni for the previous five years, is being replaced by her. Under his direction, the brand expanded its global retail footprint throughout Europe, Asia, and the US and experienced double-digit annual growth. More than forty-five standalone locations are run by the Copenhagen-based brand.
