Secret Sales, a platform specialising in off-price retail for fashion, sportswear, and beauty, is extending its reach to Ireland. Irish shoppers can now access over £ 700 million worth of discounted inventory on the Secret Sales online platform, featuring products from 450 premium brands like Dsquared2, Plein Sport, Aquascutum, Cavalli, Diesel, Asics, Hackett, Ted Baker, and Superdry. This expansion aligns with Secret Sales’ strategy to become the preferred destination for non-full price retail across all major European markets by 2025, following its acquisition of the Spanish e-commerce firm Dreivip.
Chris Griffin, the CEO of Secret Sales, has already indicated the company’s growth plans, aiming for global expansion into new territories. He highlighted the strong demand for off-price fashion in the Irish market, making this expansion a natural fit for their brands and retail partners. Considerable thought has been given to product selection to cater specifically to Irish preferences.
The company emphasises its collaborative approach with brands and retailers to enter new markets that align with their business objectives. This includes enhancing profit margins, reaching new customer bases, and safeguarding brand reputation.
In recent developments, Secret Sales secured US $ 10 million in a Series B funding round earlier this year, building on a previous € 10 million round in June 2021. Series B investors, including ePerwyn, Belerion Capital, and Big Ideas Group, are fuelling the company’s European expansion and advancing its marketplace technology. Chris Griffin and Matt Purt, who acquired Secret Sales in March 2020, transformed the former members-only flash sales site into a dedicated marketplace. The addition of Angus Duthie-Jackson from Perwyn to the company’s board is part of the latest funding round. This marks a new phase of growth for Secret Sales as it expands its presence in Ireland and beyond.
