There’s some exciting news for sports enthusiasts in Dhaka as two leading sportswear giants, Nike (from the USA) and Adidas (from Germany), are all set to open showrooms in the city within the next two months.
This is as per media reports, which added the DBL Group, which previously introduced the famous sportswear brand Puma to Dhaka in 2019, is facilitating this move.
“We have already signed an agreement with Adidas, and their store will be ready to open in Gulshan by October. The number of stores will be increased based on the response received from consumers,” reportedly opined Vice Chairman of DBL Group MA Rahim Feroz while adding, “The contract with Nike has also been finalised, and their store is scheduled to open by November.”
The entry of these global brands into Bangladesh reflects their confidence in the country’s promising growth prospects.
It may be mentioned here that Bangladesh has witnessed rapid development and currently boasts a consumer base of approximately 35 million affluent and middle-class individuals.
