Growth and expansion are priority for many companies today. 12 years old Mahalaxmi Inc., having its registered office in Mumbai, fabric manufacturing in Surat and garment factory in Bangalore with 250 machines, is adding a new factory with another 250 machines also in Bangalore for which the production is expected to start in November. Working in exports for Smiles Fashion Corporation, Millenium Clothing Inc, Limited Too Inc. as well as in the domestic market for Pantaloons and Aditya Birla Group, the company produces men’s and women’s wear both for buyers in UK, Europe and US and top brands/retailers in India.
Praful Shah, GM of the company informed Apparel Online, “We are investing Rs. 8 crore in this new factory and it will help us in exports as well to meet our domestic demand because we will now separate the production units for both segments. As market is good both at national and international level, we are hopeful to get good orders. At least 20 per cent growth is sure this year.” The company is doing well in the fabric manufacturing segment and produces 1 million metres per month, mainly chiffons and georgette.
