Recently, Sabyasachi, a luxury fashion and lifestyle company, debuted its new resort wear collection at its flagship locations worldwide. For both men and women, the apparel and accessory line features a variety of western, fusion, and traditional looks.
“Love, wanderlust, curiosity,” announced the brand on Facebook. “Fine resort wear made with Japanese cotton, Indian silks, recycled nylon and hand-washed denim. Detailed with artisanal heritage embroideries and original prints created by The Sabyasachi Art Foundation. With a new repertoire of fine and high jewellery, and leather accessories from the house of Sabyasachi.”
The collection includes traditional formal wear ensembles, including sarees, updated for vacation wear with light fabrics and sparse ornamentation. Retro-inspired gowns and easy-fitting ensembles with Sabyasachi’s unique interpretation of toile de jouy patterns combine with flirtatious frilling, jumpsuits, and short dresses for ladies. Men’s 1970s cut ensembles, oversized pussy-bow blouses, and waistcoats create a sophisticated yet whimsical look.
The collection’s accessories showcase Sabyasachi’s trademark flair for ornamentation, including straw sun hats adorned with jewels and clutch bags that showcase the brand’s iconic Bengal tiger design in gold metal. The global-facing collection, together with the brand’s recent pop-up at Saks Fifth Avenue in Los Angeles, US, and its new beauty line in collaboration with Estée Lauder, demonstrate brand founder and designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee’s growing focus on its global audience.
