Due to the non-receipt of orders as per expectations, some well-known export houses are laying off their workers, especially in Hosiery Complex, Noida. According to the workers of an export house, “Our factory is slowly laying off most of the tailors and it seems that they don’t want to continue this business.” On the other side, owner of the company on request of privacy said, “Business is okay and we are hopeful that we will be able to maintain last year’s figures.”
Another company which is strongly into domestic with a high-end brand as well as into exports has confirmed a lay off of 200 workers and asked them to join back after two months. Some workers were also on demonstration against the management of another manufacturing unit as they were not being paid according to the promise made by the HR of the company.
