RE&UP, a circulartech company focused on textile-to-textile recycling and Marchi & Fildi, a textiles group specialising in the production of yarns, have announced a new collaboration to jointly create a new line of high-quality recycled cotton yarns. The partnership, which is presently in the pre-industrial stage, brings together Marchi & Fildi’s extensive knowledge in sustainable yarn creation and manufacture with RE&UP’s state-of-the-art textile-to-textile recycling technology.
The project is a significant turning point in the development of circular innovation, aiming to reach every level of the textile value chain. The initiative’s recycled cotton fibres originate from RE&UP’s fully integrated process, which turns post-consumer waste into premium raw materials suitable for industrial usage.
The two businesses are establishing the foundation for scalable, high-performance solutions that have the potential to improve the whole textile value chain by fusing RE&UP’s innovative recycling technology with Marchi & Fildi’s proficiency in the manufacture of premium yarn.
According to Marco Lucietti, Head of Global Marketing and Communications at RE&UP, this partnership enables pushing the limits of what can be achieved with recycled cotton fibres and brings the industry one step closer to making Next-Gen yarns scalable.
It takes constant investment in technical know-how and cutting-edge technology to develop yarns from recycled fibres. According to Alberto Grosso, Business Development Manager, Marchi&Fildi Group, synergies with partners like RE&UP, who share the quality and circularity philosophy, are what really make the difference and create new prospects for collaborative development.
