After the successful completion of the first phase, Digital Hospital is all set to provide free medical consultation to around two lakh garment workers.
Media reports maintained this adding after successfully completing the first phase of the initiative, Digital Hospital — the hospital had earlier partnered with USAID’s MaMoni Maternal and Newborn Care Strengthening Project: Emergency Response to COVID-19 Pandemic implemented by Save the Children in association with factories under BEPZA and the BGMEA— which served around 150,000 apparel workers and slum dwellers in capital Dhaka and its surrounding areas with quality healthcare services, is looking at extending the services further this time.
Under the second phase of the initiative, around 200,000 RMG workers will be able to, reportedly, access specialist doctor consultations (with Dermatologist, Psychologist, Gynaecologist, Medicine Specialist and Paediatrician) completely free of charge as many times as they want.
Further, medical facilities at the apparel units will also be equipped with all the necessary resources for availing specialist doctor consultations via video call directly from the medical centre even if the garment workers will also have the option to avail this service via the Digital Hospital app.
