
India-based textile and apparel conglomerate, Raymond has placed an order of Rs. 2 crore to get supply of 98,000 metres of Khadi fabric from Khadi & Village Industries Commission (KVIC).
Of the total order, 32,000 metres will be supplied to the textile major by the end of this month and the rest by May end, this has been confirmed by KVIC Chairman VK Saxena.
“It is the largest ever order received by KVIC from any corporate giant. Khadi is heralding the entry of corporate and private sector giants into marketing of Khadi fabric and thus providing sustainable employment and livelihood support to the artisans,” said VK Saxena.
This bulk order is an outcome of an agreement signed between Raymond Ltd. and KVIC in December 2016, informed Raymond CEO Sanjay Behl.

Last month, a total of 23 Central Government hospitals placed an order of Rs. 150 crore to get supply of khadi goods from KVIC. In the past few months KVIC has also bagged orders from ONGC, railways, Air India and JK White Cement.
