Ravi Prabhakar, who was working earlier as the CEO (India Operations) of Comtextile (HK Ltd.), Bangalore, has now started his own company Coradius Textile and Apparel Resources. With this new initiative, he aims to help apparel manufacturers reach out to customers in India and the rest of the world. Ravi, currently having a team of 10 people, has aggressive plans that include opening of offices in major Asian apparel production hubs and design studio in Spain.
As Ravi shared with Apparel Resources,“We are targeting all kinds of Indian retailers right from established brands, retail giants to emerging players. And as policies are in favour to import from Bangladesh, there are good opportunities in this regard. We will serve our Indian clients with quality and cost-effective Bangladeshi products.” Apart from these opportunities, the thing which motivated Ravi to start his own organization was a need to work on his true potential. He further has planning to serve his clients in overseas markets like Latin America, Europe, US and Middle East with latest designs. “We will also focus on fast fashion solution and for that, we will start our office in Spain, probably by March 2018. This office will provide design inputs as well as marketing opportunities,” added Ravi. He is in touch with such Indian exporters who have faster turnarounds.
Anand S., who was already working with Comtextile (HK Ltd.), has taken the place of Ravi Prabhakar.
The company, targeting US $ 10 million business in the current season/first year of its operation, is currently focusing on products like outerwear, trousers and womens’ innerwear, but from next season, it will also add shirts (casual as well as formal) and sweaters. “In the next fiscal, we should have a turnover of US $ 20 million as we will be able to cater to all seasons,” says Ravi.
With an overall experience of over 27 years with companies like Shahi, Gokaldas Exports and Arvind, Ravi has managed huge manufacturing set-up as well as the marketing and merchandising of major American and European customers.
