Indian textile conglomerate Arvind Mills has reportedly decided to make an investment of Rs. 400 crores to set up a garment manufacturing unit in Jharkhand.
This has been revealed by Executive Director Kulin Lalbhai after a meeting with Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das.
According to country’s leading denim manufacturer, the investment will create job opportunities for around 10,000 youths, especially women. The company will even provide training to those who wish to work in the garment industry.
The Chief Minister has welcomed the move and expressed happiness over the company’s decision to come to Jharkhand. The State Government has assured all the support required such as land for the unit.
Arvind Mills has become the second garment firm after Orient Craft Limited (OCL) to ink a deal with the Jharkhand Government to set up a manufacturing unit in the state.
The manufacturer recently inked a deal with the Gujarat Government as well to set up a Rs. 300-crore apparel manufacturing facility in Dahegam. The unit will produce over 24 million garments.
