US-based shoes and apparel manufacturer Vans recently collaborated with Town & Country Surf Designs, better known as TC Surf, to launch of a limited-edition capsule of apparel, footwear and accessories. The new line celebrates surfing and its rich history.
While giving a preview of the collection, T&C described it as a capsule which is ‘classic but modern’. A quirky combination of Vans’ very own checkerboard print and the yin yang imagery of T&C surf can be seen on the shoes, three different garment pieces and a cap that were shown in the preview.
A statement bright yellow coloured long-sleeve shirt, board shorts with colour-block print, and a logo graphic black tee is what the apparel side of this venture promises. The shoes, specifically Vans Sk8-Hi 138 Decon SF, Authentic SF models, are no less when it comes to statement colours and prints and are complemented with a casual, black pair of slip-ons. The collection’s look is completed with a co-branded logo blue and white checkerboard hat.
The launch will include a pool party and a charity surfboard auction open to the public. The event, slated to be held on July 6th at Surfjack in Waikiki, is to be hosted by the Honolulu Museum of Art and Surfjack Hotel & Swim Club, with which Vans partnered recently.
T&C Surf is a manufacturer of surfboards acknowledged around the world, with its origins going back to 1971. Their goal is to ‘build a team that represents the essence of Hawaiian surfing – commitment, power, style and respect’.
