
US-based retail chain Target Corporation witnessed good response from customers during its one-day sale on July 17 to counter Amazon’s flagship event Prime Day where the e-retail giant offered huge discounts on various products on its marketplace.
Those having Target REDcard got a chance to save additional 5 per cent while shopping during the event. In addition to saving, they were also offered free two-day shipping on most items on Target.com, while free two-day shipping with a purchase of US $ 35 or more.
Around 90 per cent of orders were fulfilled directly from Target stores. The event fetched very good traffic on Target.com, however, small appliances, beauty and personal care, baby gear, home and tech items were majorly purchased during the event.
Not only Traget, other retailers too announced similar sale on their respective marketplace to counter Amazon fetching the majority of the market. Macy’s, the US-based department store chain also hosted ‘Black Friday in July’ on its e-platform.
Meanwhile, In another development, Target Corporation has confirmed opening of new store in Santa Barbara in California in 2019. The store will be located at 6865 Hollister Ave.
Minneapolis-based Target Corporation has been serving guests at 1,829 stores and at Target.com since 1946.
