UK-based women’s fashion label Sosandar is making its debut in the Australian market through an agreement with Sydney-based, The Iconic, set to commence online sales in early 2024. This marks a significant stride for the brand, expanding its reach to a new international audience. The Iconic’s partnership with Sosandar follows its earlier wholesale deals with H&M subsidiaries COS and & Other Stories.
In addition to The Iconic, Sosandar has also inked a deal with The Bay in Canada, surpassing its initial goal to establish at least one such partnership before 31st March 2024, marking the end of FY ’24.
Co-CEOs Ali Hall and Julie Lavington expressed that these are Sosandar’s first international third-party collaborations. They emphasised the success of such agreements in recent years and revealed that thorough research led them to select the perfect partners for launching their international expansion.
Sosandar, launched in 2016, has steadily grown its online presence over the past three years through partnerships with UK retailers like Marks & Spencer and Next. It has recently established itself as a flagship brand with Sainsbury’s, available both online and in-store. Furthermore, Sosandar is gearing up to open its first standalone store in 2024. The women-fashion brand is also available online in India.
In the first half of FY ’24, Sosandar achieved a net revenue of £ 22.3 million (AUD $ 42.7 million), marking a 6 per cent increase compared to 2022. This growth showcases the brand’s continuing momentum in the fashion market.
