Captain of the Indian National Women’s Cricket Team, Harmanpreet Kaur, has been roped in to be the latest brand ambassador for sports brand PUMA India.
Through multiple activities and campaigns throughout the year, the cricketer will endorse the brand’s footwear, accessories and apparel as part of the partnership terms.
“Not many know that I hit my first ODI century in 2013 in a pair of PUMA boots that I received as a token of support in my early years by the brand,” Harmanpreet said.
“Exactly a decade now and I have been roped in as the face of PUMA. I am thrilled to join the biggest sports brand in the country with a star-studded roster,” she further added.
The roster of brand ambassadors for PUMA, of which Harmanpreet is now a part of, has included Indian batting great Virat Kohli, champion sprinter Usain Bolt, Sunil Chhetri and Neymar Jr., both stars of football, boxer MC Mary Kom, fellow cricketer Harleen Deol and para-shooter Avani Lekhara.
“This is just the beginning and I am sure this association will encourage a lot of women who dream to make a career in cricket. I look forward to an exciting journey ahead,” said the cricketer.
The sportsperson from Punjab has claimed the record of scoring the fourth fastest women’s T20I century in the world and is India’s only women’s T20I centurion.
So far in her career, she has scored six international centuries, with five of them in ODIs and she was also conferred with the Arjuna Award in 2017.
