Following Isak Andic’s untimely death, Toni Ruiz, the CEO of the Spanish fashion firm, has also assumed the role of vice chairman of Mango, an anticipated decision that came about as a result of the board of directors’ restructuring. He will serve in this capacity until a replacement chairman is found.
With this decision, one of the most trying weeks in Mango’s 40-year existence comes to a conclusion. The tragic death of the company’s founder and non-executive chairman, Isak Andic, was revealed on December 14. Ruiz’s appointment, according to Mango, complies with the company’s articles of association and the regulations of the Spanish Companies Act. Ruiz will serve as chairman in the interim until a replacement is found.
By designating Ruiz as interim chairman, Mango emphasises how important he has been to the company’s evolution since joining in 2015. With above-average growth and a strong financial foundation, Mango produced its highest results in company history in 2023 under his direction.
“Isak Andic’s professionalisation and introduction of best governance practices ensure the continuation of the strategic plan,” Mango emphasises in support of this statement. The March presentation of ‘Plan 4E’ outlines the strategic goals through 2026.
