A groundbreaking Health and Wellness Digital Toolkit aimed at enhancing the well-being of the Ready-Made Garment (RMG) workforce was officially launched on Thursday at the BGMEA Head Office in Uttara, Dhaka. This initiative, spearheaded by AYAT Education in collaboration with the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), the John C. Martin Foundation, and Integral Global, is designed to promote healthier lifestyles and improve productivity among RMG workers.
The digital toolkit offers easy access to health information via mobile devices and is tailored to provide technical support to factory management in implementing health awareness programs.
Md. Anwar Hossain, Administrator of BGMEA and Vice-Chairman of the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), served as the chief guest during the launch event. He highlighted the significance of collaborative endeavors in prioritizing health and wellness in the garment industry, asserting, “BGMEA is dedicated to promoting the health, safety, and overall well-being of workers. This digital toolkit, which centers on the health and wellness of the ready-made garment workforce, represents a timely and innovative initiative that will enhance both the industry and the well-being of its workers, ultimately leading to a healthier workforce and improved productivity.”
Nusrat Feroz Aman, the CEO of AYAT Education, emphasized the importance of equipping employees with knowledge and resources. She stated, “This initiative will enhance health awareness, increase productivity, and decrease absenteeism, ultimately fostering a safer and more sustainable workforce.”
Sharif Zahir, Managing Director of Ananta Group and a member of BGMEA’s support committee, expressed optimism about the initiative’s potential impact on the sector, stating, “Since we are also working with apps, I believe this initiative by AYAT Education will bring remarkable progress to the ready-made garment sector.”
Nabil Ahmed, the Founder and Director of Integral Global, highlighted the enduring advantages of the toolkit by stating, “Access to health resources is a basic human right. This toolkit is designed to be a sustainable resource for the RMG sector, equipping both workers and management with essential health tools that enhance well-being, productivity, and resilience. This partnership is set to benefit thousands and foster sustainable growth within the industry.”
