
Japanese fashion retail giant Uniqlo, has decided to inaugurate its first store in Maryland next month. The brand owned by Fast Retailing will open its 8,000-square-feet store at 11853 Grand Park Ave on September 1.
“The brand is aimed to offer exceptional service of Uniqlo and innovative apparel designed to help customer’s everyday life,” informed Hiroshi Taki, CEO of UNIQLO USA in a statement issued by the company.
The company’s line of apparel, called LifeWear, will be stocked at the upcoming outlet.
More than 2,000 Uniqlo stores are operational worldwide with 47 of them being in the US.
In another development, the Japanese clothing retailer which entered into second year of a 10-year association with Museum of Fine Arts (MFA), has launched latest collection of graphic T-shirts for both men and women. The launch marks the first retail collaboration between Uniqlo and the MFA.
Uniqlo inked partnership with MFA in 2017. The brand also supports the museum through art-making events, the Boston Festival of Films from Japan, and the translation of the MFA Family Guide into Japanese.
The brand also launched its online operation in Canada and mobile website. It is for the first time the brand has taken a mobile-first approach.
