In an important step to promote sustainable methods in Bangladesh’s textile industry, the 2025 Bangladesh Technical Seminar was held in Dhaka by Ohyoung Inc., a South Korean dye maker, and TeXco Tech, a local partner. The event highlighted Ohyoung’s latest innovations in dyeing technology, focusing on enhancing efficiency, environmental responsibility, and global competitiveness.
Senior members of Ohyoung’s Global Technical Team, Jinwook Chung, President of Ohyoung Inc., and Park Young-sik, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Bangladesh, were among the esteemed attendees of the seminar. Managing Partner Md. Anwarul Haque Tutul, speaking on behalf of TeXco Tech, greeted attendees alongside prominent figures from Bangladesh’s thriving textile and apparel industry. As a Special Envoy, Jinhak Hur, Director General of KOTRA Dhaka, also took part, highlighting the growing commercial partnership between Bangladesh and Korea.
Through initiatives like the Korean Export Processing Zone (KEPZ), the ambassador emphasised Korea’s longstanding investment position in Bangladesh’s ready-made garment (RMG) sector. The upcoming Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA), which he described as a “last game-changer” that may greatly increase bilateral trade, particularly in textiles and apparel, was another topic of discussion. Ambassador Park underlined Korea’s dedication to assisting Bangladesh’s supply chain innovation, infrastructural development, and industrial expansion.
The Director General of KOTRA Dhaka, Jinhak Hur, emphasised the value of technological collaboration for both parties’ advancement, pointing out that Korean businesses like Ohyoung have cutting-edge know-how that may assist Bangladesh in meeting international sustainability, quality, and traceability standards.
The subsequent technical workshops focused on Ohyoung’s responsibilities as a sustainable dyestuff provider. In order to help textile producers satisfy the exacting requirements of global brands and regulators, President Jinwook Chung reaffirmed that sustainability is now essential to the company’s R&D, production, and customer service.
An interactive Q&A session with Ohyoung’s technical specialists on process optimisation and pilot projects for incorporating the newest dyeing technology into Bangladeshi factories marked the end of the conference.
This seminar is an important milestone in Bangladesh’s efforts to become a leader in sustainable textile manufacturing. Bangladesh’s textile sector is well-positioned to take advantage of fresh growth prospects and satisfy the growing demand for ecologically friendly production worldwide thanks to smart international cooperation and creative solutions.
