Known for consistent development in specialized knitting machines, Japan-based Shima Seiki has recently introduced SCG122SN, a course gauge computerized flat knitting machine with R2CARRIGE system, slide needle technology and DSCS (Digital Stitch Control System). The fabric produced from the machine is robust with texture of hand crafted knits. Besides higher productivity this new machine also produces quality product with consistency.
The R2CARRIGE (R2 – Rapid Response) system has low weight carriers, which can react or response quickly after reaching at the ends than the conventional flat knitting machines. This faster movement of the carriers leads to the higher productivity.
The slide needle technology and DSCS are responsible for maintaining quality and consistency. Since the needles of this machine slide, the easy movement produces perfectly symmetrical loops. Digital stitch control system continuously adjusts yarn feed and tension to yield loop consistency with ±1 % tolerance, earlier which was very difficult to maintain.
The software programmed for the machine is also very user-friendly with the USB interface positioned directly below the control monitor for improved access in data exchange and its display is available in twelve different languages. This machine also provides a backup power supply which allows work to continue if when there is sudden power failure.
SCG122SN is available in the gauge of 3 & 4. Its maximum width and knitting speed is 48 inch and 1.1metre/second, respectively. This machine is also equipped with Spring-type move able full-sinker system which ensures gentle yarn handling.
