ShareCloth, a US-based software solution company, recently introduced an innovative software technology to boost on-demand apparel manufacturing.
The new software will help digitize the garment style once product is uploaded to ShareCloth just before the manufacturing starts.
Further, ShareCloth enables designers to share designs with apparel retailers and, with this sharing, it is now possible for retailers to get only desired number of garments manufactured. “Once production is complete, the produced apparel piece is delivered to retailers so that they further ship it to the customers, therefore, ShareCloth helps retailers to start selling on-demand,” commented Sergey Moliavko, CEO, ShareCloth.
Sergey further said that it is unfair to wait for approx. 6 months to get the shipments from the overseas market. “We support reshoring and localized manufacturing,” said Moliavko.
It’s worth mentioning here that the tech firm invited 40 women to testify on-demand shopping experience before launching its technology. Using the iPhone app of the software, the women chose colours and fabrics for the dress style. The body measurements were then entered into the app and fit was customised with the help of a body avatar. The avatar tool assisted women create a dress size that closely reflected their own bodies by uploading two selfies.
With the process mentioned above, the size is validated and thereafter, ShareCloth shares the size with the apparel manufacturer, so it can start manufacturing.
The test told ShareCloth that about 91 per cent women were satisfied on fit point, whereas 89 per cent of women were overall satisfied.
“Out of 40 dresses, I believe only one person wasn’t satisfied. Compared to regular ecommerce—we had no returns,” averred Moliavko.
