SDL Atlas, a supplier of textile testing equipment, unveils a latest fixture for testing stretchy fabrics on their MMT: Moisture Management Tester. This addition will increase the accuracy for testing the fabric and its behaviour while in use by the end customer.
The 3-piece stretch fabric fixture will allow testing of fabric in a stretched position.
The users can fix the stretch percentage, which can be further adjusted according to their requirement using the scale on the fixture’s handle. Samples can be stretched maximum up to 50 per cent.
Once the percentage is set, the sample is clamped into place with a clamping ring, removed from the fixture and placed directly onto the MMT’s test area for moisture management testing.
This testing of fabric in the stretched form allows more accurate testing of the fabric compared to the traditional way of testing where the fabrics were tested when laid flat.
This position did not allow analysis of complete performance of fabrics of different types including athletic clothing and underwear.
The newly launched MMT stretch fabric fixture is now available for delivery worldwide.
