PFAFF has introduced an advanced single needle lockstitch machine which is more ergonomic and wears less. An accelerated ageing test was carried out at the Fraunhof Institute for Chemical Technology (ICT) to optimise the quality and reliability of the new product family, POWERLINE 2545 Machine. A series production of POWERLINE 2545 was tested in a fully functioning condition with the P74PD control unit and table. The decisive aim was to achieve an artificial ageing of the machine of four years under subtropical conditions. All touchable plastic parts were prepared with a perspiration spray.
During the 28-day test, the machine was subjected to temperature fluctua-tions between a very low and a high temperature with air humidity between dry and full humidity. The result was extremely positive. There were no external or internal aberrations on the 2545 after the humidity-freeze cycle test. The machine continued sewing with full functionality without any follow-up work.
This is a test most certainly unique to the industry conducted in an independent, accredited laboratory to test the quality and service life of a new product. This tailor-made environment test shows the working mechanism under artificial ageing conditions and natural weathering processes. Looking ahead to 2012 PFAFF sees that POWERLINE not only demonstrates good functionality and an attractive design, but also a proven long-life and convincing product quality!
