Jakob Müller Group (JMG), a global leader in narrow fabric weaving machinery, has announced the acquisition of 100 per cent of the shares of MEI International. This strategic move enhances JMG’s position in the woven label production sector by integrating MEI’s advanced air-jet technology into its portfolio.
MEI International, an Italian manufacturer with over 50 years of experience in wide label weaving machines, brings a wealth of expertise to JMG. As part of this acquisition, JMG will phase out its Müjet air-jet weaving machine, fully adopting MEI’s technology to strengthen its offerings.
The acquisition aligns with JMG’s long-term strategy, expanding its capabilities in label weaving and reinforcing its financial stability. Key benefits of the merger include:
Expanded Product Portfolio. Customers now have access to a broader range of label weaving machines, catering to diverse production needs.
The combined expertise of JMG and MEI will drive the development of new products and services.
Strengthened financial resources will support increased investment in research and customer service.
Existing sales and service networks of both companies will remain in place.
“This acquisition is a milestone in our JMG 2030 strategy,” said Andreas Conzelmann, CEO of Jakob Müller Group. “MEI’s values, innovation, and technical excellence align perfectly with ours. Together, we will continue delivering industry-leading solutions that uphold the highest standards of quality and reliability.”
Paolo Mazzucchelli, CEO of MEI International, also emphasized the strategic benefits of the merger. “Joining JMG allows us to accelerate innovation while maintaining our strong relationships with customers. We will continue operating independently, ensuring the same level of service and expertise.”
