The American pioneer in manufacturing automatic and manual cutting room equipment, Eastman has developed the new MPC Raptor 75x™ Multi-Ply Cutting System – an automated reciprocating straight knife cutter, with conveyor, capable of cutting up to 7 cm (2.75 inches) of compressed material. Eastman’s MPC models have been uniquely crafted to automatically pull stacked material plies from the spreading table to a modular, bristle-block conveyor bed for reciprocating knife cutting of patterns.
A knife is the core of any cutting equipment and the same has been kept in mind while developing the high-end automatic cutter. Features like variable knife speed control, adjustable software setting for blade sharpening, pneumatic sharpening device, Intellicut™ knife control software and an optional drag knife attachment, make the cutter standout among others of its class. The variable frequency drive control with Eastman’s high-efficiency vacuum provides consistent material compression while reducing power consumption.
The machine can cut at the maximum speed of 60 metre per minute with the maximum conveyor speed of 12 metres per minute and reciprocating knife speed of 5000 RPM. The automated machines from Eastman can be networked to the company’s central server and accessed by Eastman’s technicians for troubleshooting and support in real-time. Similarly, the diagnostic system, monitors all the wires, signals, motors and other parts of the cutter continuously in real-time.
