    Vietnam is determined to surpass its 2019 export target of US $ 40 billion with huge orders overflowing, and rapid automation and investments taking place all around. This Team AO also witnessed at the last year’s two biggest technology fairs – SaigonTex and HanoiTex – and also when talking recently with Vu Duc Giang, Chairman, Vietnam Textiles and Apparel Association (VITAS) and Le Tien Truong, General Director, Vietnam National Textiles and Garment Group (VINATEX). Earlier, the hub registered US $ 31 billion export in 2017, and also exceeded its target of US $ 34 billion also in 2018.

    The issue also highlights the Better Work report, debating on the recent acceptance of the piece-rate payment and its harmful effects on the country’s apparel industry. Better Work is a partnership between the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC).
