Amazingly, in the first three hours of the new online viewing format, the Fashion Week managed to pull on 2.5 million viewers.
Going fully digital by leveraging Alibaba’s technologies, the weeklong show is first-ever global fashion week event to host its entire roster of runway shows online with all shows exclusively livestreamed in China on Tmall and Taobao Live.
More than 150 brands and designers among other distinguished guests presented their latest Fall/Winter collections through the digital platform.
Latest technologies have been integrated to showcase SHFW to provide a new and leveraging experience by digitising bricks-and-mortar retail stores in a full-chain solution.
An added advantage of Fashion Week going digital is that one can immediately purchase the items they see on the runway without having to wait another season for collections to hit the shelves.
