Zaber & Zubair Fabrics Ltd., a leading fabric manufacturer in the nation, has launched an extensive collection of products crafted from recyclable and sustainable fibers. This initiative is in response to the increasing consumer demand for eco-friendly and recycled goods, intending to minimise environmental impact and health risks.
To highlight these advancements, including 40 innovations and 240 new products, Zaber & Zubair has inaugurated a Fabric Week at its marketing office in Gulshan, which will run daily until 19th January. The event is open to brands, buyers, local manufacturers, and their representatives.
Subhasish Bose, Assistant General Manager of Product Development at Zaber & Zubair Fabrics Limited, shared insights, stating, “We have introduced several products made from recycled cotton and polyester at this fair.” He noted that the company is partnering with global leaders in recycled fiber production, such as Recover and CiCLO Recycled Fibers.
Among the showcased items are garments made with 20 per cent Recover fiber, and products that utilise 100 per cent biodegradable polyester from CiCLO. “CiCLO fibers are derived from specifically colored garment cutting waste, which often necessitates yarn dyeing,” Bose explained.
He also indicated that RegenAgri, a sustainable fiber producer that eschews chemicals and pesticides, is increasingly favored by US buyers over BCI, prompting its adoption by Zaber & Zubair. The company is also developing products using jute, pineapple, and linen fibers, enhancing the visual appeal of their garment offerings.
Md. Shofiqur Rahman, Executive Director of Sales and Marketing at Zaber & Zubair, noted that the company is responding to market demands by developing new products targeted for the spring and summer seasons of 2026. He acknowledged the EU’s commitment to zero carbon emissions and sustainable products by 2050, stating, “Most European buyers are now seeking recycled or sustainable options.”
