A market leader in various kinds of aerosols for the apparel and textile industry, such as lubricants, adhesives, zinc, cleaners, protective, removers and other similar products, Siliconi, Italy recently started its operations in Bangladesh with Pacific Associates, “The potential here is huge, even more than its neighbouring apparel manufacturers,” says Rahul Chhikara, Marketing Manager, Siliconi. The company plans to sell 5 shipping containers of its products annually in Bangladesh and has already in its warehouse 23 such containers to meet future demands.
The Italian pioneer Siliconi came into existence in 1957 and has since then developed more than 150 kinds of sprays that aid the varied operations of the apparel and textile industry. Among the nominated products, it would focus upon is the TAKTER-1 water based adhesive for screen printing. The spray is non-toxic in nature and also does not get transferred to the fabric, therefore preventing unnecessary damage to the fabric.
Amongst the innovations on display, PULIMAK is a chlorine free spray that helps in removal of grease, ink and oil stains from cotton, silk, wool, besides synthetic fabrics. With its major USP being no formation of rings or halos on the fabric surface, with no colour bleeding too, the product literally faces no competition in the market. Also displayed was a spray that repaints the whole sewing machine, especially from Juki. “This spray dries up within 15 minutes and allows the painting to be done in-house; 25 machines can be sprayed with a single bottle of spray which is a great advantage to the organization,” says Rahul.
