In the next 20 days, the Government plans to host up to 1,000 outreach events nationwide, including stakeholder meetings, workshops, awareness campaigns, and feedback sessions, to educate states and industry on the India-UK trade agreement, according to sources.
In order to maximise the advantages of the comprehensive economic and trade agreement (CETA), which was signed on 24th July, the exercise aims to ensure its efficient implementation.
Outreach programs tailored to specific sectors are planned. Additionally, programs on the agreement will be held by the respective line ministries. In order to educate states about the advantages of this trade deal, teams will also go to various states. On Monday, the leather and textile industries met with Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal to discuss the trade agreement.
He stated that he would be holding sectoral meetings with every industry while Parliament is in session, and afterward, he plans to visit all the states.
