Digital transformation is the need of the hour, and the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) is the latest to take that route now.
The organisation recently announced its first ever digital edition of the India Couture Week 2020 (ICW) from 18 to 23 September 2020.
FDCI has collaborated with Hindustan Times for the event.
While ICW usually takes place in the month of August every year, it has been shifted to September this time around owing to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 6-day extravaganza will be streamed on FDCI’s digital platforms including YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and the organisation’s official website.
India’s leading designers participating in the event will include Manish Malhotra, Shantanu & Nikhil, Anju Modi, JJ Valaya, Amit Aggarwal, Falguni Shane Peacock, Rahul Mishra, Gaurav Gupta, Dolly J, Kunal Rawal, Reynu Taandon and Suneet Varma.
Sunil Sethi, Chairman, FDCI, expressed his excitement for going digital for ICW, “The FDCI has been a frontrunner in establishing a fresh template, in tandem with the changing times. Couture has all the elements of fantasy, and as screens take over our lives, we hope to recreate the magic of this genre, with pure creativity.”
