The pioneer denim show organized by Denimsandjeans.com will hit the floor of Bangladesh on 2nd & 3rd March 2016 with its 5th edition under the theme ‘Denim In Fashion’. The denim exhibition organized by Denimsandjeans.com is one of the most awaited exhibitions and has been attracting global attention since its 1st edition in March 2014. Visitors worldwide appreciated the show with even the Godfather of denim Adriano Goldschmied (founder of Diesel) visiting and commenting – “The show was much better than expected, from designs to other things, everything was efficient and even looked better than 1st PV show.” All these developments lend credence to the idea of denim quickly capturing space as a FASHION CLOTHING. And this prompts Denimsandjeans.com to choose DENIM IN-FASHION as the theme for their next show.
In recent times trend denim has gone posh – Alexa Chung for AG jeans to Marques Almeida and even Prada, designers are using style and history to create nostalgia and style reinvention. “Denim has been growing continuously in the last decade but what new has happened is that high fashion has also joined the bandwagon of denim affiliation,” says Sandeep Agarwal, organiser of the show.
The 4th edition of Denimsandjeans.com Bangladesh show concluded successfully showing much greater response compared to the last 3 shows. With the theme being Denim Playground, the focus was on denim as a sportswear and increasingly targeting to become an activewear product. The Athleisure Trend was strongly declared to be ‘in’!
More than 1,700 visitors from the top international apparel retailers like G-Star, C&A, Celio, Carrefour, Uniqlo, Camieu, GAP, Gloria Jeans, H&M, Jade, Kiabi, Levi’s, Li and Fung, M&S, Otto, besides from local factories, buying houses, etc. made their presence felt. The two-day programme comprised of a series of seminars on sustainability as well as the new technological paradigm shifts in the manufacturing, washing and dyeing. The exhibition was also special as this was the first show which allowed the local Bangladeshi Young Fashion Talent to showcase their creativity and design on an international platform. The students of three universities BUFT, SMUCT and NIFT participated in the contest.
