The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) have formalized their partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing the activities of the Responsible Business Hub (RBH).
Supported by GIZ, the RBH is a dedicated center established to assist garment factories in understanding and complying with global standards related to Human Rights and Environmental Due Diligence (HREDD). The MoU was signed yesterday at a hotel in Dhaka by Anwar Hossain, Administrator of BGMEA, and Michael Klode, Project Manager at GIZ.
The event featured a presentation by BGMEA highlighting the progress achieved by the RBH so far, along with its strategic vision for future development. The collaboration underscores a shared commitment to fostering responsible business practices within Bangladesh’s rapidly growing RMG industry.
Expressing gratitude, BGMEA acknowledged the continued support from GIZ and the Initiative for Global Solidarity (IGS) Program, emphasizing their joint efforts to promote transparency, ethics, and global competitiveness in the garment sector.
Together, these organisations aim to build a more sustainable and responsible garment industry that aligns with international standards and benefits all stakeholders involved.
