A session at the Bengal Delta Conference highlighted the critical importance of strengthening partnerships between industry and academia to drive Bangladesh’s development. Bangladesh Apparel Youth Leaders Alliance (BAYLA) President Abrar H. Sayem underscored the necessity of addressing the persistent mismatch between employment needs and educational outcomes to create a more transformative future for the country.
The session, titled Human Capital and Job Creation: Navigating the Demand and Supply Challenges, was organised by the Dacca Institute of Research and Analytics (DAIRA). It brought together prominent voices from both sectors to discuss strategies for enhancing human capital and generating sustainable employment opportunities.
The discussions emphasised the urgent need for collaborative efforts to bridge the gap between educational outputs and labour market demands, aiming to foster a more skilled workforce and accelerate Bangladesh’s socio-economic progress, especially within the country’s RMG industry.
BAYLA was founded to foster innovation, capacity building, and sustainable growth within the RMG sector by uniting young leaders, driving sustainable practices, and promoting market expansion and branding. BAYLA aims to position Bangladesh as the world’s most sustainable apparel sourcing destination by 2030 through strategic research, training, and partnerships.
