The 6th Trade and Investment Cooperation Forum Agreement (TICFA) meeting held recently in Washington has once again witnessed Bangladesh calling upon the USA for reinstatement of the Generalised System of Preferences (GSP) facility.
As per media reports, the meeting was co-chaired by Secretary to Bangladesh’s Commerce Ministry Tapan Kanti Ghosh and Assistant US Trade Representative for South and Central Asian Affairs Christopher Wilson even as both delegations that partook in the discussion included officials from trade, labour, agriculture and other relevant ministries.
They reportedly discussed issues concerning bilateral trade relationship, including market access for agricultural products, intellectual property protection and enforcement, labour rights, digital trade policies and policies impacting the investment climate.
