Singaporean companies are showing significant interest in investing in Bangladesh, according to Grace Fu, the country’s Minister for Sustainability and the Environment, as well as the Minister in charge of Trade. Fu made this declaration during a meeting with Lutfey Siddiqi, the Special Envoy for International Affairs of Chief Adviser Prof. Muhammad Yunus, in Singapore.
In a post on her verified Facebook page, Fu highlighted the opportunities for sustained growth in Bangladesh, even in light of recent political shifts. She pointed out that numerous companies from Singapore are either already engaged in operations there or are keen to invest, especially in areas such as infrastructure and logistics.
Fu expressed her commitment to ensuring that the Singapore government remains supportive of companies interested in investing in Bangladesh, including those for RMG. She conveyed her enthusiasm for strengthening the economic relationship between the two countries and for seeking out opportunities for increased cultural exchange.
The meeting underscored the warm and longstanding bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Singapore, which have flourished over 50 years since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1972. Fu expressed her satisfaction with the discussions held with Siddiqi, highlighting a mutual commitment to strengthening collaboration.
