
Prominent entrepreneur Matiur Rahman, who serves as the Chairman and Managing Director of the Uttara Group of Companies, has been elected uncontested as a Director of the Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA) for the terms 2023-24 and 2024-25.
He officially assumed this role on 24th September, as stated in a press release.
Matiur Rahman is not only dedicated to his business pursuits but also actively engages in various social initiatives.
He holds the position of President within the Bangladesh Motorcycle Assemblers & Manufacturers Association (BMAMA) and has previously served as both Director and Vice President of the Chittagong Chamber of Commerce.
His leadership extends further as he successfully held the position of President at the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry in consecutive years, 2002 and 2003.
Furthermore, Matiur Rahman played a pivotal role as the Founding President of the Japan-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industries from 2004 to 2006.
His notable contributions to bolstering economic cooperation between Bangladesh and Japan have earned him recognition from the Japanese government.
In acknowledgment of his efforts, Matiur Rahman has been honoured with the prestigious “Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette” award.
