
The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) officially inaugurated its new Board of Directors for the 2025-2027 term, with Mahmud Hasan Khan assuming the role of President.
The handover ceremony took place at the BGMEA Complex, where outgoing Administrator Anwar Hossain and the Support Committee formally transferred responsibilities to the newly elected leadership. The event was attended by former BGMEA Presidents, distinguished members, and representatives from various sectors of the apparel industry.
The new Office Bearers include First Vice President Salim Rahman, Senior Vice President Inamul Haq Khan, and Vice President for Finance Mijanur Rahman. Other Vice Presidents are Md Rezwan Selim, Vidiya Amrit Khan, Md Sehab Udduza Chowdhury, and Mohammad Rafique Chowdhury. The Board of Directors from Dhaka encompasses industry leaders such as Shah Rayeed Chowdhury, Mohammed Abdur Rahim, Faisal Samad, Md. Hasib Uddin, and several others. From Chittagong, directors include Md. M. Mohiuddin Chowdhury, Syed Mohammed Tanvir, Sakeef Ahmed Salam, Md. Shaif Ullah Mansur, and additional representatives.
During the event, representatives from various organisations extended their congratulations, including Quazi Moniruzzaman, President of Sammilito Parishad, along with General Secretary Abul Kalam. Similarly, Mohammad Mohsin (CIP), Chairman of the Romo Group and leader of the Oikya Parishad, also congratulated the new leadership.
In addition, Fazlee Shamim Ehsan, Executive President of BKMEA, and Md. Rokonuzzaman, Managing Director of RL Apparels Ltd., representing the non-bonded SME sector, conveyed their best wishes to the new Board of Directors.
The inauguration marks a new chapter for BGMEA as it continues to lead Bangladesh’s apparel industry towards sustainable growth and global competitiveness.
