
Tipu Munshi, the Commerce Minister of Bangladesh has expressed hopes the country’s export earnings will increase to US $ 70 billion in the next fiscal year (2023-24).
This is as per media reports, which added the minister underlined while replying to a question in the Parliament recently even as he dwelt on the various initiatives undertaken by the Government in the last 14 years while also adding the Government has encouraged the establishment of labour-intensive industries even as national export trophy 2018-19 was handed out to encourage the exporters.
Tipu Munshi further added export trade between India and Bangladesh has increased significantly on account of the signing of the SAFTA among the SAARC countries while also adding Bangladesh Government has also developed the export development fund (EDF) to US $ 7.0 billion, with the aim to facilitate raw materials procurement of for the exporters.
