N Brown Group owned-Simply Be, UK’s leading womenswear retailer, recently launched its new performance denim range with Invista’s Coolmax EcoMade technology, that is produced using 97 per cent recycled sources.
The Coolmax Ecomade reused-plastic technology is mixed with traditional cotton, Tencel and Lycra elastane in the denim manufacturing process.
With this, the fashion retailer has become the first in the country to retail products which are completely made up of recycled bottles and a blend of cotton.
Each product from the new denim range is made up using recycled plastic which is equal to about 18 plastic bottles. The new line is machine washable and available from size 10 to 32.
The new denim scores high on comfort as it absorbs the moisture from the skin of the wearer to the fabric where it gets evaporated. Hence, it is an apt outfit for hot and humid weather.
Laura MacDonald, Senior Press Officer, N Brown Group, said that we now know how damaging single-use plastics are to the environment so we all have a job to do in taking steps to reduce the amount of plastic that ultimately ends up in landfill.
“The astonishing progress which is made in technology, enables plastic to be recycled into a high-end breathable material, like the one used in our jeans. This will hugely help us in the ongoing fight against plastic,” she added.
