Zady, the e-commerce fashion startup that sells ethically sourced, sustainable clothing, has introduced a new line of clothing for women, titled as the Essential Collection, which will be scrutinized for environmental and human impacts. The company wanted to contact and deal with the dyers, farmers, and washers directly, instead of going through agents. The company also released its study on sustainability in the fashion industry, titled the New Standard, which points out the environmental and social impacts of fast fashion. It indicated that plastic fibres that shed from synthetic clothing into the water supply account for 85 percent of the human-made material found along ocean shores, threatening marine wildlife and ending up in our food supply.
