A huge fire broke out in a building that housed a garment manufacturing unit owned by Lovable Lingerie Ltd. near Konankunte Cross, Bengaluru.
The mishap, which occurred on 12 November 2017, reportedly destroyed garments, cartons, machinery and other goods worth Rs. 25 crores.
The fire was caused, seemingly, due to a short-circuit.
Since the fire started at the rear end, it was noticed by the security guard of the other building who informed the guard of the affected building.
Immediately, the police and fire department were informed.
According to officials from Fire Department, after receiving the call they immediately sent the fire tenders from the fire station of Anjanapura. By the time fire engines came from other stations, the fire had engulfed all floors of the complex and incurred heavy losses.
About 80 firemen fought the fire during which about 22 fire tenders were used.
The fire officials said that though they could bring the fire under control in 6 hours, it was completely doused only 9 hours later.
