Telangana (India) Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will lay the foundation of the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park in Warangal on October 20, 2017.
The textile park will be set up at a cost of Rs. 11,000 crores under a public-private partnership. It is touted to be the biggest ‘fibre to fabric’ (end-to-end) facility in the country.
Additionally, the vertically integrated textile park would eventually generate direct employment for over 1,13,000 people, including cotton farmers and handloom workers.
Furthermore, skill development and training centres will also be established at the park to ensure availability of skilled workforce.
The State Government has already allotted funds to improve the infrastructural facilities around the park. Rs. 669 crores have been invested in the development of the Outer Ring Road (ORR). Additionally, Rs. 78 crores will be spent on a ROB (road overbridge).
