
Turkey, which is one of the leading ready-to-wear apparel and textile exporters in the world, recently opened its new trade centre in New York in a bid to enhance exports to USA.
The trade centre, located at 10 East, 34th Street near the Empire State Building, will house best of the Turkish apparel brands and manufacturers.
USA is world’s largest importer of ready-to-wear apparels, home textiles and carpets and therefore the opening of this centre is expected to help Turkey enhance its exports to the US.
Further on the above, Mehmet Büyükekşi, Chairman, TIM, said that this new centre, spread over 40,000 square foot, will not only help designers see the latest fashion trends, but also touch and get the feel of the products.
The Chairman added that if the designers liked the products, they can then meet the company representatives of the Turkish brands and manufacturers at the same centre.
It is worth noting that the US-Turkey trade rose from US $ 10.8 billion in 2009 to US $ 17.4 billion in 2015 and the numbers are expected to grow in coming years.
The centre will showcase a wide array of exquisitely designed ready-to-wear products in varied categories such as denim, knitwear and street fashion.
Besides, the trade centre will present some of the best maternity clothes in addition to featuring carpets and home textile products like towels, linens and bathrobes. There will also be a range of business contract services.
