The Hirdaramani Group, pioneer in Sri Lanka’s apparel industry, is seeking business opportunities in Pakistan.
This was announced by an official from the Ministry of Commerce. The official further mentioned that Pakistan’s commercial secretary in Sri Lanka recently met senior officials from the Hirdaramani Group to discuss about business expansion.
The foreign direct investment regulations in Pakistan allow complete repatriation of money and profits. Besides, the laws regarding foreign investments are stricter in Pakistan.
Also, skilled workforce, investment in technology, and the growing young population is making Pakistan very attractive for the remaining world – Hirdaramani Group from Sri Lanka being the latest to be lured.
The official added that Sri Lanka with its economic linkages, historical businesses as well as the status it enjoys in Pakistan was in the best position to enjoy all the existing and potential opportunities.
Hirdaramani is known to be one of the global leaders to provide end-to-end supply chain solutions to apparel sector with huge factories in Vietnam, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, and Sri Lanka.
The official also said that Sri Lanka is aiming to be a middle-high income nation by the year 2025 with an economy that is globally competitive.
