Seamless Garments manufacturing is picking up fast in India among exporters and domestic players. Today, more than 40 Santoni seamless circular machines are in operation in India with a capacity of 6 million pieces per annum. Personal Creations (PCPL), with 21 Santonic machines, is the largest manufacturer of seamless garments in India. “Our machines will soon be doubled as order for 20 new machines has been placed,” says Lalit Malick, the Director of PCPL which registered a turnover of Rs. 15 crore in 2007. Seamless apparels is the dream project of Vinod Jindal, MD of Elegant Exports. A company established just two years ago has already installed 12 Santoni machines and another 20 will be installed at the end of this year. The company has achieved a turnover of US $ 2 million in such a short time. Yet another company Flying Fashions, entered the seamless business just three years ago has already 9 machines running and another 12 machines are to follow soon.
It is to be noted that each seamless technology costs a huge amount of Euro 70,000 per machine.
