The Pakistan Government is strongly committed to bring advanced technology to the textile and garment sector. Hassan Iqbal, Federal Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Textile, said this while speaking to the participants of an ‘Interactive Session of Business Community’ at PRGMEA House in Sialkot.
He further added that adoption of the latest technology is essential for the rapid growth and expansion of the garment and textile sector in Pakistan.
Several garment and textile exporters attended the event that was presided over by Ejaz A Khokhar, Central Chairman, Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PRGMEA).
The secretary also said at the event that Pakistan Government will be giving 2% cash bonus to all those garment and textile exporters who will develop new and innovative products for the world market.
The garment exporters have been urged to enhance the quality of the products they export as it would help them capture new markets across the globe.
The Federal Secretary further added that the Government is putting efforts to promote local and foreign investors to set up industries in the country and incentives and benefit schemes announced by the Government will only benefit the investors.
However, it remains to be seen if the Government will introduce news schemes or textile industry policies to offer subsidies on the adoption of latest technologies by the local manufacturers as well.
